02 In the Garden

In the garden, there were slugs. There were also those gross wormy things that sleep curled up deep in the dirt. Then, flying around right by wear you want to work are all these bees and wasps.

This could be looked at negatively. Because then if you add in the 90 degree days and the small child who insists on running into the middle of the street, it does look pretty crappy.

However, I do like gardening. Another negative thing is that I don't know how to do it very well. There are all these rules and laws and then there's design and water needs and sun and shade... and the insects, and mold and weather.

And the sad thing is that this is nothing new. Every day some normal, everyday person walks out and decides to enjoy gardening. They find out the many crappy things about it, too.

But I still find it something that I spend my time doing. Your average, ordinary garden full of growing things, eaten things, almost dead things and also some very colorful and texture-y things. Looks neat and smells nice.

Did you ever eat Indian food and just go crazy over the smells of the spices? If you have an herb garden you can have those smells all the time!

Gardens rock.
